I just went through this with several of my friends. As I excitedly told them about the new feature, I would walk them through the process on their phones only to realize that travel time doesn't appear.
Here's why:
Travel Time is an iCal only feature. If you're default calendar is your gmail calendar or your company's Microsoft Exchange calendar, you won't see travel time (see screenshots).
Simply change your calendar and you'll see it :)
